In Panama City

Well, I was supposed to go back to Perú on the 11th of February but it appears that the next projected date of departure is Wednesday, the 20th.

The last few days have been pretty annoying for me because just as I was feeling well enough to explore the city and do some tourist things, all the construction workers decided to go on strike and Peace Corps has restricted all volunteers to either stay away from the city or, in all Medevac cases (that's me!) to stay in the hotel. Boo.

On the more compassionate hand, I do wish the constructions sindicado the best of luck as well as the national government so that they can come up with a peaceful compromise to satisfy both parties. And so I can go see Casco Viejo. :)

So, what have I been doing? Well, after getting out of the hospital, it was slow going the first few days but I managed to go to a movie (27 dresses) with a fellow medevac. (We were both hurting, so there's nothing like sitting in a taxi, walking to the theater, and then sitting through a movie for two people that can't walk very well!)

And I've been reading any and every book I can find. I've read four books since I left site! Crazy times. For me anyway... :)
