Hi! I´m in San Marcos at my new site! I´m replacing another volunteer named Marta and she is actually going to be leaving during my site visit. Last night we went to her friend´s house and had a despedida dinner with them and some other friends that came over. I felt bad intruding on her last dinner with some good friends but it was nice to meet some friendly faces right away!
I met my new host family and my room where I´m going to stay. Today I´m going to the health post and my counterpart is going to have a presentation about what they do in the health post and as well as introducing me and Tsutsuy to the staff (Tsutsuy is going to be working closely with them as well because she lives so close and the San Marcos is the main health center in this area). It will also be the final goodbye for Marta. She leaves San Marcos on Friday and goes to Chavin, Tsutsuy and I will be meeting up with her on Saturday and we will be going together to Huaraz, the capital city of Ancash.
I´m taking pictures so I can upload them later this week!

Oh, and only dial-up in any city on the other side of the Cordillera Blanca, where I am. Looks like the only time I´ll be calling over the internet is when I´m in the capital city. There is no cellular signal and the phone used as a house phone is actually in the gas station across the street.
