Friend in Huarimayo
Today I watched our cat die. :( Well, I watched her twitch and then we shut the door to let her die after about a half an hour. Someone fed her venom, we think. There are so many stray dogs around barking and biting that some people set out venom. The other possibility is that it was rat poison and she ate the rat. Her name was Ñawi. Which is Quechua for eye. She had big eyes. So, they called her eye. I thought this was humorous, but then not, because she´s sick.
Then, I went to the Aldea and taught high school kids about dehydration. This topic is probabaly a little simple for them. But I couldn´t think of anything better to do and I wanted to play flipcup with kids that could actually flip the cup and then play the cup game. These are marginally related to dehydration (they are too) so I did a dehydration unit with the older kids.
Ok, I have a new friend! In a small town about a twenty minute walk from San Marcos. I´ll not say her name so you psycos don´t come stalk her. She is a mom and when I was doing the surveys, she invited me in for breakfast (a typical breakfast of soup with cow´s feet. no joke, typical breakfast) and invited me to come cook lunch later that week! So I went and brought stuff for a salad because they don´t really eat salads here. Ironically, they think that all people from the U.S. eat is salads, which is silly.
Ok, shoot, time is up...
